Class 3 - Newsletter Monday 22nd June
Hope you are all keeping well and have had a good week.
We have been busy in our school bubble checking on our sunflowers (only one has a shoot as I type this!) and taking turns to water them. We are hoping they will start to grow now the warm weather has returned.
Are you growing sunflowers at home? It would be great if you could ask your adult to take a photo and put it on Tapestry or email it to the school. If it is very tall, maybe you could stand next to it so Mrs Harrison and I can see how big it really is!
Some children have been very busy on Tapestry this week:
Emily H has been counting and completing addition work, feeding the ducks and swans, growing and tasting strawberries, making a beautiful collage of a sunflower, looking for fairies and spotting frogs!
George has been writing about the sunflower life cycle, practising spelling tricky words and writing his numbers.
Shae has been practising doubling with grapes, writing words with the ai sound in, writing his numbers and also a super sentence with correct punctuation. He has also been writing ‘ee’ words and playing games practising turn taking.
Well done to you all!
I would also like to mention that the Duchess of Cambridge has taken part in a special assembly about kindness with the Oak National academy. We watched it in school and it would be lovely if you could watch it with your adult. The link is below:

Home learning
Sadly, the Twinkl website is no longer offering free access to parents. This has meant that some of the suggested activities have had to be altered. We are of course monitoring the situation with regards to other websites (such as Phonics Play) and will do our best to
keep you updated. Thank you.
Reception: It continues to be as close as possible to what the children in school will be doing.
This week we will be looking at melting. We have a fun experiment for you to try with your adult! We are also looking at numbers to 20 and subtraction, poetry and rhyming words.
Year 1: This week it is based on different sports. Do you have a favourite sport? Have you been playing games in your back garden?
Hope you have a good week and thank you for your ongoing support!
