Hello again Class 3!                

 

Hope you are all keeping well and have had a good week. It has been raining a lot more this week. Lots of people say it is very good for the gardens as the water will help the grass and the plants grow. I know I am looking forward to the sunny days coming back! Do you like the sunny days or the rainy days?

 

I know some of you have been busy building towers, making rockets and completing phonic work! Well done! Please do keep putting photos, videos and comments on Tapestry as I love to see how you are getting on at home and I do reply.

 

I hope you enjoyed the home learning activities last week. The Reception children will have been sharing their story book and the Year 1 children will be ‘bee experts’ by now! Please remember that bees are beautiful to look at but they can sting so don’t try to touch them.

 

Home learning

Our literacy this week:

The Reception children will be completing more activities based on the story ‘A Place called home’ by Addy Farmer.

The Year 1 children will be learning all about spiders- fun facts, the lifecycle and how they make webs. Perhaps you could see if you can find any spiders around your home this week.

The Phonics continues to be revision of Phase 3 sounds and tricky words.

 

Our Maths this week:

The Reception children will be starting to use the White Rose maths home learning lessons for Early Years. This week it is based around the Very hungry Caterpillar and includes lots of opportunities to practise counting, shape, adding, taking away and patterns. They will also look at doubling, halving and sharing.

The Year 1 children will be continuing using the White Rose maths home learning lessons. This week they are looking at finding a half, finding a quarter, problem solving as well as completing a Friday maths challenge!
