Class 3 Newsletter Monday 27th April

Hello again Class 3!

Hope you are all keeping well and able to enjoy the lovely sunshine. I know some of you have been playing games in your gardens and even learning how to ride bikes! Fantastic! Please do keep putting photos, videos and comments on Tapestry as it’s great to see what you are doing at home.

I hope you have enjoyed the home learning activities from last week and have spotted lots of caterpillars and butterflies in your gardens or on your daily walks. Going on minibeast hunts is a great way to learn more about the insects around us. Please remember if you find a minibeast to be very gentle (we are like giants compared to them!), put them back where you found them and always wash your hands to keep the germs away.

Home learning

Our literacy this week:

The Reception children will be completing activities based on the story ‘A Place called home’ by Addy Farmer. It is about children going on a space adventure and I’m sure they will enjoy it!

The Year 1 children will be learning about bees, honey bees in particular. They will find out lots of facts about bees, label a picture of a bee, make a bee life cycle and create a bee fact file. They will be bee experts by Friday!

The Phonics continues to be revision of Phase 3 sounds and tricky words.

Our Maths this week:

The Reception children will be continuing their learning about time and will be measuring short periods of time in simple ways.

The Year 1 children will be using the White Rose maths home learning lessons. This week they are looking at grouping, sharing and halving as well as completing a Friday maths challenge!

I hope you enjoy completing the home learning activities and have a good week!

Mrs Parker and Mrs Harrison
