Class 3 - Newsletter Monday 29th June

Hope you are all keeping well and have had a good week. It has been very hot and sunny!

We have been busy in our school bubble looking after our sunflowers. All of them have started to grow now and we have been counting the leaves and measuring them. We are making sure we water them and also put them in the sunshine. Have you got any flowers growing in your garden? What colour petals do they have? Maybe you could carefully count the petals.

Some children have been busy on Tapestry this week:

Shae has been practising writing ‘igh’ words and wrote a sentence, he also decorated a paper lolly, matched rhyming words and enjoyed predicting and finding out which materials melt in the sunshine.

George has been decorating a paper lolly and also making a real one! It looked delicious!

Well done to everyone completing home learning this week!

Year 1 Parents-

Hopefully you will have received an email about your child returning to school for some fun activities! These will be for the next three Mondays- 29th June, 6th July and 13th of July from 10am till 11.30am. Your child will need to come in school uniform and bring a water bottle.

If you would like your child to come, please email the school to book their place as soon as possible. Thank you!

Summer Reading Challenge 2020

The Summer Reading Challenge, presented by The Reading Agency and funded by Arts Council England, encourages children aged 4 to 11 to set themselves a reading challenge to help prevent the summer reading ‘dip’. For the Summer Reading Challenge 2020, they are asking everyone to get silly. The theme for the Challenge is “Silly Squad”- a celebration of funny books, happiness and laughter. The challenge will be delivered online this year due to Covid-19.

To join, children need to visit https:/summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/school-zone-src

Home learning

Reception: It continues to be as close as possible to what the children in school will be doing.

This week we are learning about staying safe in the sun, making a pinwheel, the story of Super worm and time.

Year 1: This week the focus is on exercise and healthy eating. What exercise do you like to do at home? Do you have a favourite food?

Hope you have a good week and thank you for your ongoing support!
