Dear Class 5  

Happy New Year! It hasn’t quite been the start to the term we all wanted but we do hope you all had a lovely Christmas despite the tight restrictions. We know last week you will have been reflecting on the Christmas holiday and making New Year’s Resolutions so we will look forward to seeing your writing. All the staff are working very hard to get a new ‘learning platform’ up and running so that you can send in pictures of any work you have done at home for us to look at and send you messages about.  We are really looking forward to that. Over the next few weeks, Mrs Matthews and I will be recording videos of us reading stories but we will really miss doing this in class and seeing your reactions.

Our new topic this half term is ‘Superheroes’. We hope you are as excited about this as we are. We look forward to seeing some of the questions you came up with in your work on Friday and we will try and answer as many of those as we can during this topic.

We know some of you have had a few problems with the links to work this week. If the link won’t take you to where it should, try copying the link and pasting it into the URL bar at the top. This should sort it out.  Some of the links we have put in are for Discovery Espresso. The login details for that are:

Please remember to keep reading! It has been great to see that a few of you have been on Bug Club but it would be great if we could get everyone in the class on! We know some of you have had problems on iPads and Mrs Smith has made an iPad Troubleshooting Guide, which Mrs Codd will be putting onto the website, as some of the settings might need to be changed. On iPads, you also need to enter Bug Club through ‘Safari’ not ‘Chrome’.  Once you are on, please remember to answer every question so that we can allocate new books once you have finished. If you don’t answer the questions, it doesn’t realise that you’ve read the book! If you can’t find your login details, please contact the school and we can get them to you.
